John Geiger will be on SL today and I'll be talking to him on the Meet an Author show about his book The Third Man Factor. He'll also have 3 signed copies to give away to members of the audience. This book had me on the edge of my seat as I read it, especially the opening where a survivor of 9/11 describes how a mysterious presence arrived and persuaded him to walk into the fire and downstairs to escape.

The Third Man Factor is about this type of experience, showing psychological reasons we might feel a presence when we're extremely isolated or in danger. Geiger has really researched his subject, talking to explorers and others who have survived disaster to find out what it felt like.

Although he looks into scientific explanations, many, like the story of the only man to survive from his floor in the Twin Towers by following his 'guide', are baffling and completely intriguing.

John will be interviewed, will read from the book and also take questions from the audience who can meet him after the show more informally. Really looking forward to this one!
